Coastal flooding expected to continue, rain possible across Bay Area
Moderate coastal flooding is possible along Bay Area shorelines through Sunday, with high tides that could flood low-lying areas, cause road closures and erosion, the National Weather Service said. San Francisco may see tides 1.9 feet above normal at 2:39 p.m. Friday, 1.5 feet Saturday and 1 foot Sunday; Monterey may see 1.8 feet at 1:25 p.m. Friday. Light rain is possible Saturday: most areas have a 10%–30% chance and a few hundredths to a tenth of an inch, while Monterey County's interior has a 50%–70% chance, other areas 30%–50%, and totals up to a third of an inch. Coastal residents should allow extra travel time, avoid flooded roads and protect property.
